Abby Reckard

Well hello.

I came by marketing the way any good marketer does: by accident.

I combined my past lives as a writer, designer, social media strategist, and publicist with insatiable curiosity, fascination with people, and passion for progress to get to my position as a marketing leader focused on growing mission-driven brands.

Marketing for good.

Let’s be real. A career in marketing can mean the occasional existential crisis. Am I helping to make my community a better place? Am I devoting my time and talents to a worthy cause?

When you get to work with brands who are doing good work and good in the world, that dread eases up a bit. At its best, marketing builds community and connection. It educates, entertains, and inspires. It can be a driving force for good when it’s used for something worth growing.

That’s the kind of marketing I do.

This kind of marketing:

Lemon Tree Cookies

Lemon Tree Cookies

Lemon Tree Cookies is my first child. It’s a brand and business my mom and I built from the ground up. A passion project that put the best of our unique talents to use. I’m responsible for the brand development, social media, publicity, event planning, customer communication, collateral and package design, and more. We’ve been featured in Food Network Magazine, Indy Style, Yelp’s Best List, Indy Monthly, and Do317.

Health Possible

Health Possible is a community health initiative from the good folks at Hancock Health. Along with talented agency and client teams, I delivered brand development, campaign strategy, digital media plans and implementation, website strategy and development, content management and creation, and analysis and optimization. Our HealthPossible.org launch campaign earned over six million impressions and drove tens of thousands of visitors to the website.

03

Lumina Foundation

Lumina Foundation is a private, independent foundation working to increase the number of Americans with education beyond high school, working to prepare people for informed citizenship and success in a global economy. My work with Lumina began with a single campaign and has grown into a full-service relationship delivering everything from digital advertising and social media consulting to campaign concepting and event planning.

Goodman Campbell

Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine is a private neurosurgery practice that specializes in treating brain and spine conditions. I’ve worked with Goodman Campbell on integrated marketing plans, a new website, recruitment campaigns, search marketing, and most recently, a brand campaign and featured patient stories. Between the launch of the new site and the campaign, traffic to GoodmanCampbell.com is up 101 percent over last year.

In short

I’ve held a variety of positions in advertising, marketing, journalism, and public relations, where I’ve been responsible for delivering everything from marketing plans to sitemaps.

I’ve founded and run a successful company on a shoestring.

I’m endlessly curious and have pursued continued education in social impact strategy, social psychology, and data science.
